I was first licensed in 1979 at the age of 18, now it seems a long time ago.
I cut my teeth on VHF DX and HF RTTY contesting and whilst I enjoy other activities still do a lot of RTTY.
Having a very short garden and putting out a respectable signal on the HF has always been a challenge.
Currently I use a GAPP Challenger DX for 40m, 20m, 15m and 12m, with an inverted L for 160m, 80m, 30m and 17m.
My main mode of operation is RTTY on all the HF bands with an FTDX-101MP, Lenovo PC with Microham Micro keyer II interface running MMTTY and MMVARI under N1MM Logger which I can recommend to anyone involved in RTTY & contesting.
I also run a Creed 444 mechanical teleprinter for hard copy and have entered into the Heavy metal section of the ARRL RTTY roundup.
I have a modest VHF set up but I’m active on 4m, 6m, 2m, 70cm and 23cm.
I will always QSL 100% for all contacts through LOTW (HF and VHF QSO’s).
Due to costs and admin time I am no longer accepting paper QSL’s.
